Q Why Revise and Edit? The Value of Feedback Giving and receiving feedback on writing is a valuable component of the writing process. We will use this discussion board to exchange feedback. Workshops are an opportunity to get feedback on your writing before it is graded. Use the workshops to make connections with your peers and have a conversation about your writing to make improvements. Overview of Giving Feedback to Your Classmates You are giving feedback to one (1) classmate in these three (3) categories that are on our grading rubric: Feedback Item #1: Intro and Conclusion Exceeding Effective Developing Needs Work Introduction: Provides an overview of the chosen audience and a clear sense of direction for the entire analysis. Conclusion: Briefly summarizes the main points of the essay and provides a sense of closure. Introduction: Explains most parts of the audience and includes a brief summary of the audience being analyzed, although this summary may be too long or too vague. Conclusion: Briefly summarizes the main points of the essay. Introduction: Identifies some parts of the audience and includes a brief summary of the audience analyzed, although this summary may be too long or too vague. How to Give Feedback Step One: Post your own rough draft to this discussion board. Click on the Reply bar and add your draft as an attachment. Your full rough draft is due to be posted by Wednesday. Step Two: Choose ONE group member and read the draft. Be sure that person does not already have feedback posted. Open and carefully read the draft. Step Three: Click Reply on your classmate's original post. In the reply box, COPY and PASTE these questions. 1. Intro & Conclusion What is one strength of your classmate's intro and conclusion? Give positive feedback and be specific about what you liked. Example: "You did a great job describing the context and your audience. My topic I want to introduce to my audience is the shape of the future in electric vehicles and its effect on the world economically and socially. Electric vehicles (EVs) have been around since the 1800s and consistently producing even until today. (James). I want to link the benefits of EVs to them socially as well. In this paper, I am going to talk about the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats. My goal within in this analysis is persuade and inform my audience on the decision when it comes to purchasing their next vehicle. My audiences’ strengths are the rise in population in electric vehicles. More than 10 million electric cars were on the world’s road in 2020.
